Attack on Titan is, by far, one of the most famous and well-liked anime series of all time. Fan support for the series has grown more and more, and it will continue to grow even after the series concludes next year.

One of the high points of the series is its cast of dynamic, likable characters, and each needs to be strong in order to fight the horrifying Titans that populate this world. But some characters are far stronger than others, easily outclassing them and being able to take on an entire army or swarms of Titans almost single-handedly.

10 Bertholdt Hoover

Bertholdt is the holder of the Colossal Titan at the start of the series, already making him a strong warrior. But his training makes him even stronger.

Bertholdt received training in Marley prior to the start of the series, making him a skilled warrior both in and out of Titan form. Following this, he received training on Paradis during his infiltration mission with Reiner and Annie, giving him even more skills to call upon when needed. While his Titan form is massive and incredibly strong, it can still be hard to maneuver, making him one of the slowest Titan Shifters and thus bringing his power ranking down a bit.

9 Erwin Smith

Erwin's death is one of the most heartbreaking deaths in Attack On Titan, but in life, he was one of the strongest soldiers on Paradis.

Despite not being a Titan Shifter, Erwin still has an amazing amount of skill behind him. As leader of the Scout Regiment, he is also a master strategist, able to think three moves ahead of everyone else and take massive gambles in order to succeed in his goals. What makes him really strong, however, is his willingness to give up his dream of seeing the secrets of the cellar and leading the Scouts in a suicide charge against the Beast Titan. This strength made him a hero until the end.

8 Ymir

Ymir's time in the series may have ended halfway through the anime, but she still proved herself as being a strong warrior. While Ymir wasn't among the top 10 graduates of the training regiment, it's heavily implied that she purposefully did badly to help Historia out.

Ymir was clearly a far better fighter than she let on, but the biggest reason why she's such a strong character is due to her possessing the Jaw Titan's power, giving her immense power and the ability to battle Titans head-on. In fact, the only reason she ended up dying was due to sacrificing herself to try to save Historia from death at the hands of Marley.

7 Armin Arlert

Not only is Armin one of the best characters in Attack On Titan, but he's also one of the strongest, despite all appearances to the contrary.

Though he doesn't show it often, Armin is a fully capable fighter. While he may not be as strong physically as some of the other characters, he makes up for it with pure brainpower. Many times he and his friends have been saved by his intelligence and planning. His power gets even stronger, however, when he acquires the power of the Colossal Titan, though he rarely uses this power unless he has no other choice.

6 Zeke Yaeger

Zeke is probably one of the most chilling villains in Attack On Titan with his cold nature and almost casual killings of anyone that gets in his way, and he has the strength to back this up.

As the Beast Titan, Zeke can hurl boulders, people, and even other Titans hundreds of yards away, showering entire areas with death and destruction. He is a master strategist, but even he can get overconfident in his own abilities, especially when it comes to fighting Levi. Still, his brutality and toughness make him a difficult opponent to beat and very, very hard to kill for good.

5 Reiner Braun

Reiner is easily one of the best double agents in all of anime, but when he needs to fight, he can easily dominate anyone he comes across.

Putting aside his fighting skills out of Titan form, which are already very impressive, Reiner's Armored Titan form is his ultimate trump card. With full armor, Reiner can smash through solid walls and survive cannon blasts without taking any damage. The only thing that can really puncture his armor are Thunder Spears, making him almost indestructible. As one of the fastest Titan Shifters, Reiner can dish out major damage in the span of just a few seconds, making him very dangerous to take head-on.

4 Annie Leonhart

Annie served as a powerful foe for the Scouts and proved to almost be their downfall in the first season of the anime. As the Female Titan, Annie is fast, strong, and very agile, able to catch up to horse riders in the span of just a few seconds.

What makes her Titan even stronger is that she seems to be able to use her full fighting skills while in it, something the stiffer Titans like the Armored and the Colossal can't do. Even out of Titan form, she is a born killer, able to kill others almost instantly with precision strikes and fight off multiple soldiers at once, long enough to shift to her more powerful and deadly form.

3 Mikasa Ackerman

Even though she isn't a Titan Shifter, Mikasa is still stronger than nearly all of them due to her fighting skills. Mikasa is at the top of her class in the training regiment, so much so that she was chosen to run with the elite soldiers during the evacuation of Trost.

She has one of the highest kill counts in the series and is also willing to kill humans that threaten Eren and the rest of her friends. She's ruthless, cold-blooded, and someone that no one wants to fight to the death. Everyone that she comes up against winds up dead.

2 Levi Ackerman

Levi's run in Attack On Titan is peppered with some great quotes - showing off why he's the single greatest soldier ever on Paridis.

Levi's skills run far beyond everyone else's. He's fought off entire swarms of Titans and the soldiers led by Kenny the Ripper all by himself. Not only that, but he has been able to defeat Zeke's Beast Titan all on his own in less than a minute. Even when the force he's up against is overwhelming, Levi can still fight them all off all by himself and walk away with barely a scratch. No matter who the foe, Levi is almost unstoppable.

1 Eren Yaeger

By far, Eren is the strongest character in the entire series. All that power, of course, comes from the many Titan forms he's acquired over the years.

Since the start of the series, Eren has gained the Attack, Founding, and War Hammer Titans, which gives him the ability to call upon the powers of all three in combat. Though the Founding was previously locked to him, after he fully unlocks the power, he is able to control Titans themselves and start the Rumbling. With an army of Titans behind him and the powers of two other Titans under his control, Eren is the biggest threat the world has ever seen.
