The news regarding the new One Piece game, One Piece Odyssey, is becoming more prevalent as fans of the franchise move closer to its release date of January 13, 2023.

If including mobile games, this will be One Piece's 56th video game adaptation, and since the series contains over 1,000 episodes, it's not hard to see where video game content derives from. Most anime don't even make it to 500 episodes, let alone 1,000. And for the anime that could reach the 500 mark, only a select few are remembered in the hearts of the community. Thankfully, the best of the best have been ranked by fans on MyAnimeList.

Ojarumaru (#7180)

The late '90s were full of iconic anime with unique premises that are still remembered in the hearts of adults today. And the anime, Ojarumaru, is no different. In fact, it continues today. Follow Ojarumaru, a boy from the Heian period, as he uses a mystical stick to travel to present-day Japan. Three demons follow the boy to the present to take back the stick, so they may abuse its power.

As far as ratings go, this show is ranked #7180 on MyAnimeList. And though the show still airs today, its popularity has dipped considerably compared to back then. This is not totally unexpected, as its original audience has outgrown the title's educational format. Even in its 25th season, the title shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Go! Anpanman (#6134)

Anpanman is the name of a dough-born superhero, who works together with his friends to fight rivals and feed the hungry. In terms of popularity, the Go! Anpanman anime is one of the most popular shows among young children in Japan. This anime is surprisingly educational considering the premise of the show is based around a living superhero born from magic dough.

Though that popularity seems to also have a hold in foreign countries, as well. On MyAnimeList, this show sits at a comfortable ranking of #6134. Even today parents use it as a guide to educate their children on the importance of helping others. Some folk who watched it growing up even continue the tradition with their own children.

Slice of life anime has been a very successful genre since its inception, which is surprising since the first assumption people would make when being asked if they would watch a show about others living their lives then their first answer may be "no." While not considered one of the best slice-of-life anime, Ninja Hatori-kun takes that genre and adds a bit of excitement to it.

Nintama Rantarou (#3633)

Nintama Rantarou, the #3633 placed anime on MyAnimeList, is about a group of apprentice ninjas who attend an academy where they are converted into full fledge ones. But, the three students have no interest in learning, instead, they spend each of their days hanging out, eating junk food, or playing games. It's a slow life, but a satisfying one nonetheless.

Ninjas have forever been a concept ingrained into Japanese culture and as such it's no surprise when even in the '90s people took it upon themselves to spread that history. Though this show takes that history and presents it in a totally comedic way. This title recently announced the production of a 30th season with a promotional video.

Chibi Maruko-chan (#2631)

This title is pretty much the epitome of slice-of-life. There are no world-ending threats, no super-powered battles, and the main character is not someone with an abnormal status. Maruko is just a normal human with her own likes, dislikes and hobbies. She has a normal family who loves her and whom she loves back.

In that regard, it may be one of the most heartwarming anime. With a ranking of #2631, this title is beloved by many who continue to watch it despite its long runtime, as the show is currently still in production. This title even happened to rank second on a seasonal TV ranking, with a Household Rating of 10.3 during the Autumn of 2021.
