With the recently released Tales Of The Jedi, Star Wars fans have been brought back into the world of The Clone Wars and, as usual, they loved it. Unlike the stories about Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano told in Tales of the Jedi, though, not every arc has been released - one of the harsh realities of rewatching Clone Wars.

Some arcs were full-on stories shown to the world unfinished, and others were only ideas that were never developed due to the show's cancellation, but all would have some value to offer audiences.

9 Yuuzhan Vong

The Yuuzhan Vong are the stuff of Star Wars Legends, and a bit of a controversial group among the fandom that, generally, fans do not mind not being in the canon. They nearly were, thanks to a Clone Wars arc that never went properly into production.

What the story was going to be is not totally clear, but it would have involved a Vong scout ship and would have played like an alien abduction story. The Vong would have been from another Galaxy but without Force immunity. While this story would be interesting to see directly from the mind of George Lucas, especially with the horror elements, the Vong staying Legends is probably for the best.

8 Return To Mon Cala

For those interested in the politics of Star Wars, The Clone Wars had some genuinely interesting, exciting explorations into it - particularly through Padmé and Palpatine, who were set to be at the heart of this Mon Cala-based arc.

The arc was set to have Padmé oppose the prolonged stay of Palpatine in office, a mission that would take her to Mon Cala and King Lee-Char in search of support in voting out the secret Sith Lord. The story sees the Quarren Senator murdered, Padmé's hope for support dashed, and Tikkes revealing himself as a Separatist. For those interested in this kind of political intrigue, this would have been a solid arc, especially when following Padmé's story at this time, which builds up to that iconic deleted scene in Revenge of the Sith.

7 Rex & R2-D2

Despite their attachments to both Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, there are few interactions between Captain Rex and R2-D2. This was set to change in this unaired four-episode arc that saw the two stranded together on the moons of Ryloth.

After the ground forces, pilots, and astromechs of the Grand Army of the Republic get into an argument, Rex must fly a starfighter with Artoo as his astromech. The two are then stranded on Ryloth where the majority of episodes would take place, growing attached to a reprogrammed B2 battle droid that likely would have produced some funny lines. This arc sounds super fun. Generally, droid arcs in The Clone Wars are hit or big miss, but this could have been a fun adventure with two iconic characters.

6 Kashyyyk

One of the 'Lost Missions' that would eventually air was the Bad Batch arc seen in season 7 of The Clone Wars. There was another Bad Batch-centric arc in development, though, that would see the group join Yod on Kashyyyk.

With the differences between the Bad Batch and the setting of Kashyyyk, Yoda would have been set up for some incredibly wise quotes in this arc that was set to explore Wookiee culture unlike ever before, as they battle Trandoshan's and Separatists throughout their planet. The arc was set to involve the likes of Tarrful, Chewbacca, references to the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, Kinrath, Echo working with the Bad Batch officially, Wookiee's communing with sacred trees and battling their bitter Trandoshan rivals, and a whole host of interesting ideas that could have made this one of the best arcs in the show not to involve Ahsoka, Anakin, or Obi-Wan.

5 Boba Vs. Cad Bane

One of the highlights of The Book of Boba Fett was seeing the iconic titular character finally face off against arguably the best bounty hunter in Star Wars, Cad Bane after an unfinished Clone Wars arc left fans itching for more.

Leading up to this iconic standoff between two of Star Wars' best, there was a whole story that saw the two team up together to rescue a child on Tatooine who got abducted by Tusken Raiders. This arc would conclude Boba's growth from a young boy to a ruthless mercenary while diving into the history of Jango Fett and his rivalry with Cad Bane. As far as bounty hunter stories go, this would have been The Clone Wars' most star-studded (with appearances from other beloved bounty hunters), as well as one of the best.

4 Return To The Jedi Temple

Ahsoka's walkabout arc came to be through her story with the Martez sisters in season 7, but what did not make it to screen was her return to the Jedi Temple, an arc that, judging by the description, would have been incredible.

The arc would explore the depths of the Jedi Temple and what mysteries lie beneath, such as a Sith Shrine and a Kaiju skeleton for example. Much of the arc would focus on Ahsoka, who would discover a threat in the Coruscant underworld and go to warn the Jedi, leading her on a rescue mission with Anakin and Obi-Wan to save Yoda from the Sith Shrine, all while stopping Palpatine from infiltrating the Holocron Vault. With a reunion between the core three of the show and an exploration into the Force, this arc would have been jam-packed with emotional moments and interesting lore for fans to dig their teeth into, and could have been one of the show's most memorable stories.

3 Crystal Crisis On Utapau

One officially unaired arc that found its way onto official Star Wars websites and The Lost Missions blu-ray as an unfinished story was the Crystal Crisis on Utapau arc, centered around Anakin and Obi-Wan's investigation into the death of Jedi Master Tu-Ahn.

What they would find there, though, is the real heart of the story, as General Grievous and the Separatist forces look to obtain a Kyber-crystal for a super-weapon aka the Death Star. The arc is terrific, not just for its action and how it leads into Revenge Of The Sith, but for its insight into the psyche of pre-Vader Anakin after losing Ahsoka. Both emotionally powerful and typically funny thanks to Obi-Wan and Anakin, this is a story arc that fans are still bitter about never seeing finished.

2 Son Of Dathomir

Some of the unfinished Clone Wars arcs made their way to various multimedia projects, including Son Of Dathomir, which proved itself one of the best comic runs of the new canon, continuing on from when Palpatine captured Maul in "The Lawless."

With a prison breakout, more Dathomir action, and face-offs between Star Wars' biggest prequel-era villains, Son of Dathomir makes for some thrilling pre-Siege of Mandalore reading and would have been a fantastic watch. Falling in between the shadow conspiracy arc in season 5 and the adored ending of season 7, this would have made for a fantastic second entry to Maul's trilogy - comic fans got their fix, though.

1 Dark Disciple

Before it got made into one of the best novels of the Star Wars canon, the 'Dark Disciple' storyline was set to be the longest and grandest arc of The Clone Wars, spanning eight episodes that were written but never produced.

The arc would follow what went down in the book, with Asajj Ventress teaming up with Quinlan Vos for the Jedi on a mission to take out Count Dooku. The story has iconic characters, romance, twists, tragedy, and action, and would have undoubtedly been one of the best arcs in the series.
