With season 2 of House of the Dragon on the horizon, fans can expect more war and bloodshed between the Targaryen families. However, Game of Thrones proved even the most combative family relationships could turn around as Arya and Sansa Stark went from constantly feuding to the best of allies.

Several of the quotes shared between Arya and Sansa or spoken about each other highlight why they were perhaps the show's best siblings. These quotes show that they could disagree yet also supported and cared for one another unlike many of the other siblings on Game of Thrones.

"And My Sister… I Need To Find Her Too."

Arya Stark (Season 2, Episode 10)

It is normal for sisters to be combative in their younger years, but Sansa and Arya were particularly at odds in season 1. This was made worse by Sansa's infatuation with Joffrey who Arya quite understandably detested.

However, when the two are separated following their father's arrest, it seems like it is a turning point in their relationship. When Jaqen H'ghar offers to bring Arya to Braavos, she insists she has to stay and find her mother and brother Robb. Almost without realizing it, she also includes Sansa, remembering a connection in spite of their differences.

"Do I Have To Call You Lady Stark Now?"

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 4)

There have been many satisfying reunions on Game of Thrones, but fans had been waiting since season 1 to see Arya and Sansa back together. It is not until season 7 when that wish comes true but it was worth the wait.

Of course, given the sibling squabbles between these two, the reunion isn't immediately warm and nice. When meeting in the crypts of Winterfell, the first thing Arya asks is if she's expected to address Sansa as Lady of Winterfell. Not to be shaken by Arya's bluntness, Sansa responds to her sister, "Yes," reinstating their way of butting heads.

"But, Our Stories Aren't Over Yet."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 4)

Though they were small and innocent young girls when they were separated, both Sansa and Arya had been through a lot in the subsequent years, perhaps more than most other characters on Game of Thrones.

Because of this, there is a dark cloud hanging over their reunion. Both of them admit that their journey to get back to Winterfell was not a happy one. However, Arya insists their story is not over, hinting that they have both overcome so much and will move forward together.

"You're Still Very Strange And Annoying."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

Though the tension arises between Arya and Sansa even after so long apart, it doesn't take too long for them to get on the same page. Of course, they are still sisters so it makes sense that they would still find small ways to get on each other's nerves.

Upon sharing a genuinely touching moment together while looking out over Winterfell, Sansa warns Arya not to get used to it as she still finds her strange and annoying. It is a funny moment between sisters but also feels like a comforting return to normalcy for them.

"She's The Smartest Person I Ever Met."

Arya Stark (Season 8, Episode 1)

There was a time when Arya would have trouble finding anything she agrees with Sansa about. But by season 8 of Game of Thrones, Arya is Sansa's most loyal ally. This surprises Jon Snow considerably when he reunites with Arya.

When discussing the rivalry between Sansa and Daenerys, Jon remarks that Sansa thinks she's smarter than everyone. Arya is quick to note that she likely is. Not only is it sweet to see Arya pay her sister such a compliment, but it is telling that she is defending her to Jon.

"You're The Lady Of Winterfell."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

When Arya arrives at Winterfell and sees Sansa is in charge, it quickly becomes clear that this will cause a clash between the sisters. Sure enough, things get quite bad between them nearly leading to a catastrophe.

But while she can be hot-headed and reckless at times, one of Arya's best decisions on Game of Thrones was finally trusting Sansa. She eventually realizes that Sansa is the right person to lead and there is a sense that her endorsement means a great deal to Sansa.

"I Never Could Have Survived What You Survived."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

Arya gradually becomes one of the deadliest characters on Game of Thrones, killing countless enemies and surviving many deadly scenarios. However, it is interesting how she views Sansa's own harrowing journey as being beyond what she is capable of.

Sansa and Arya are both incredibly strong yet in very different ways. While Arya might be able to stay alive with a weapon in her hand, Sansa had to learn to be strategic and outthink her enemies. It is touching that Arya recognizes the strength in her sister and what she achieved.

"Lone Wolf Dies But The Pack Survives."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

There are many quotes that speak to Ned Stark's character and many of those lessons made a lasting impact on his children. After reuniting and getting on the same side, Sansa and Arya remember their father's words about sticking together.

The quote tells them that given the hardships ahead that they will face, they stand a better chance surviving if they work together. It is a moment of maturity for the sisters as they recognize that their silly differences cannot get in the way anymore and it is time to join forces.

"My Sister Asked You A Question."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

Many fans were frustrated to see Arya and Sansa reunite only to immediately turn on each other. With Littlefinger manipulating them, the sisters grow more hostile to the point that it might turn deadly. It all culminates with a trial scene with a much more satisfying reveal than what fans were fearing.

After reading the charges, Sansa reveals it is Littlefinger who is on trial. As satisfying as it is to see Littlefinger finally at a loss for words, Arya digging at him to address Sansa cements how foolish he was for thinking he could come between these two.

"You're The Strongest Person I Know."

Arya Stark (Season 7, Episode 7)

Just as Arya gives Sansa the compliment that she is the smartest person she knows, Sansa expresses how equally impressed she is with her younger sister. Despite everything she has been through, it seems like this compliment is something Arya needed to here.

She remarks that it is the nicest thing that Sansa has ever said to her. It once again marks an end to the hostility of their younger days and shows that Sansa and Arya love each other greatly.
