It’s been 15 years since Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 2, and rumors about Kill Bill 3 haven’t stopped ever since, but if it was to happen, what would the story be about? Kill Bill: Volume 1 introduced audiences to Beatrix Kiddo a.k.a. The Bride (Uma Thurman), a retired assassin for the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad seeking for revenge on the team and their leader, Bill (David Carradine), after they tried to murder her and her unborn child.

The Bride’s revenge continued throughout the sequel, where she learned that her daughter was alive and under Bill’s care, giving her the last push she needed to fulfill her revenge and doing exactly what the title says. Still, there are some loose ends that could be explored in Kill Bill 3, and one in particular would turn the protagonist of the first two into the new target.

The future of Kill Bill 3 is a mystery, but what isn’t is the concept, as it’s something Tarantino has had very clear for years, even sharing he would wait 10 years after the second film to give the Bride and her daughter some peace. The story would now focus on the revenge of Nikki, Vernita Green’s daughter who witnessed her mother’s murder at the hands of the Bride, who tells her that if she still feels “raw about it” when she grows up, she’ll be waiting. And that might be exactly what she has been doing.

It’s only fair for Nikki to look for revenge, even if her mother wasn’t all that innocent. Back in 2004, Tarantino revealed that Sofie Fatale inherited all of Bill’s money and raised Nikki, which would make her a big threat to anyone who dares to do her wrong. However, her main obstacle probably wouldn’t be the Bride herself but her daughter, B.B – after all, she’s the daughter of an assassin and the leader of an assassination squad, so she surely has some deadly tricks under her sleeve that could give Nikki a good run for her money.

The future of Kill Bill 3 is uncertain, although Tarantino recently revealed he has talked about it with Uma Thurman, so the interest from both parts is still there, but there are many factors that come into play, such as the schedules of both Thurman and Tarantino. If a third Kill Bill were to happen, it would most likely merge with the previous films and be counted as one, leaving room for one more film in Tarantino’s career before his supposed retirement – and that’s a win for both him and his fans.
