The One Piece manga has been on a roll lately with fans overjoyed to finally be introduced to Dr. Vegapunk. What's more, is that they are also finally getting glimpses into Dragon's character as the final saga is still being set up.

One Piece has had a long run, but its time is nearly at an end. The manga likely only has about five more years left, maybe even fewer. In the long run of this series, One Piece has had quite a few plot holes, but that's only to be expected for a series of such length.

The World Government Doesn't Actively Hunt Luffy

A major plot hole that bothers multiple Redditors is the fact that the World Government doesn't actively hunt Luffy. Redditor damitall123 says the only explanation for this is simply that "This show is the world government sucks at finding and capturing people."

RELATED: One Piece Film Red — 10 Interesting Facts About UtaThis is certainly true as the World Government is unsuccessful at capturing many major pirates. It would make sense for Luffy to have a higher priority than other pirates as well considering what he did at Eneis Lobby, Impel Down, and Marineford. He has easily been one of the most troublesome pirates of the age and the government doesn't try hard enough to stop him.

Luffy Gets Stuck In Concrete But Shouldn't Have

What was considered more of a comedic gag was when Luffy got stuck in concrete during his fight with Arlong and pushed underwater. This scene bothered a deleted user on Reddit as a plot hole that didn't make any sense.

They say "When Luffy confronts Arlong for the first time, he stomps in the ground/concrete and gets stuck in the ground/concrete. The 2 holes in the ground that Luffy got stuck in were the size of Luffy's ankles, so he couldn't get out as his feet were too big. But how is this possible? Shouldn't the holes be the size of Luffy's feet?" Whether this is more of a comedic gag or a mistake on Oda's fault, this is still definitely a plot hole.

There Were Times Devil Fruit Users Weren't Affected By Water

A major plot hole that bugs Redditor blackalfina is that there are times when Devil Fruit users weren't affected by water. They're supposed to feel weakened by all water, not just seawater. There is a scene where Boa Hancock is taking a bath with water getting splashed and doesn't seem to be affected.

RELATED: One Piece Film Red — 9 Biggest Plot Holes Found By RedditorsThere is also the notable rainstorm in Wano where blackalfina says "so they are in the ocean, there is a rain storm. the Sunny is fighting another ship, water flies all over the place, and Luffy is not effected." Despite Luffy having a weakness to all types of water, there's never any kind of note or indication that he is affected or weakened by the rain.

Vivi Never Would've Infiltrated Baroque Works Successfully

While it's true that Vivi should have been able to fool most of Baroque Works easily enough with her infiltration, there's no chance that it should've worked given that Crocodile was the leader. MarineRitter from Reddit comments on this with "Vivi not being recognized in Baroque Works. Given that Crocodile was in Arabasta, he would have known if the princess was missing."

This doesn't seem like an issue at first, but the moment fans realize that Crocodile, one of the most powerful One Piece villains, is the leader of the organization and a well-known figure in Alabasta who knows the royal family, it doesn't make sense.

Sanji Not Knowing About Devil Fruit Users' Inability To Swim

The fact that Sanji, one of the best One Piece characters, had no idea that Devil Fruit users' couldn't swim never really made sense and Redditor Mirai_no_Beederu mentions this, commenting "Sanji having a royal military education, reading a Devil Fruit encyclopedia, coveting the Clear-Clear fruit...and not knowing that Devil Fruit users can't swim."

Sanji had read through an entire encyclopedia about Devil Fruits and also had an elite education, yet despite that he didn't know one of the most basic concepts about Devil Fruits, that the users cannot swim. This seems very unlikely and is an obvious plot hole.

Enma's Size Changes Without Explanation

Enma has become Zoro's new signature weapon as he cut through with it Wano in some of Zoro's best One Piece fights. However, the size of Enma doesn't make sense in comparison to the flashbacks, and Redditor blezio points this out saying "Enma being huge when Oden have it, but gets smaller when Zoro have it."

This is likely due to the fact that Oden is such a large character and Oda wanted to give him swords proportionate to his own body, however, it still lies as a plot hole as when it falls into Zoro's hands it's much smaller and is the size of all Zoro's swords.

Luffy Should Have Died At Marineford

Ronthay from Reddit talks about the insanity of Marineford and how being engaged with so many powerful warriors should have left Luffy dead. "He was kicked at least twice by Kizaru but was pretty okay afterwards, instead of shooting Luffy Kizaru sniped the key, Sengoku not doing anything to Luffy despite being SO MUCH stronger and seemingly a physical fighter due to his zoan."

Luffy is let off extremely easily in a war with hundreds of casualties. He's far from one of the strongest characters there and should have been killed on multiple occasions. The only accurate depiction of this was when another character sacrificed their life for Luffy's in one of the most shocking anime deaths ever.

The Entire Introduction Of Sabo's Character

While many Redditors disagree on whether Sabo only regaining his memories when he saw in the news that Ace had been killed was a plot hole or not, most tend to agree that Ace should have still known Sabo. Redditor lpopo4lyfe says "Same goes for Ace not knowing about Sabo imo. This is the second in command of the revolutionary army, where even fodder knew about him."

RELATED: 10 Pirates Who Would Make Good Marines In One PieceDragon is the most infamous criminal in the world and somehow men like Ace and Whitebeard had absolutely no knowledge of their second-in-command despite it being known that Sabo is extremely well-known. This doesn't add up at all and is a major plot hole.

Zoro's Strength Level

Something that has bothered many fans over the years is the fact that Zoro always remains weaker than Luffy and on par with Sanji, despite Zoro being the only one constantly training. Zockyboy from Reddit says "luffy being stronger and sanji on zoros level despite never train on the ship."

There's an explanation that the crew always gets stronger from every island they fight on, however, this still doesn't explain this plot hole as Zoro is fighting just as hard as the rest of his crew and putting in the hours of training on top of it all.

Shanks Losing His Arm

A deleted user on Reddit comments on the loss of Shanks's arm being a plot hole by saying "I'm going to go with Shanks feeling the need to sacrifice his arm to save Luffy from the Sea King instead of just punching it in the face. I mean, Luffy was strong enough to beat the exact same Sea King in one punch when he was just seventeen, you would think that a guy like Shanks, who sailed the Grand Line with the Pirate King would have been able to do the same."

The loss of Shanks's arm in One Piece has been one of the most mind-boggling scenes in One Piece when fans learn just how strong of a character Shanks really is. While most fans believe it's an okay turn of events because Shanks was betting his arm on Luffy, most fans find that to be a shallow excuse for someone that could have easily used Armament Haki against a creature so much weaker than him.
