On Oct. 6, 2022, Nintendo gave yet another glimpse at the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet game with a new trailer. The trailer offered the first glimpses of new features such as the "let's go" feature that allows players to send their Pokémon to quickly deal with a wild one alone, as well as a feature that allows players to create TMs with materials found throughout the world.

This will make obtaining more TMs, and the ones players want specifically, far more efficient. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are right around the corner and with it will come plenty of amazing Pokémon, especially ghost-types.

Duskull Becomes Blood Red

Duskull and its evolution line have always had some unique designs for ghost-type Pokémon. Unfortunately, Dusclops and Dusknoir don't have the greatest shiny variants, but Duskull does.

Its change to a red-colored Pokémon makes it feel far more menacing and is a perfect transition for a Pokémon based on popular drawings of Death. If this Pokémon didn't cause fans to shudder before, its shiny variant will certainly change that. This is a must-have shiny Pokémon for any collector, and they should never evolve it.

Golurk Becomes More Ghostly

Golurk never initially felt like a ghost-type Pokémon. In fact, it felt far more like an ice-type than a ground-type and ghost-type.

Thankfully, its shiny variant fixes this problem by giving it a color scheme similar to Spiritomb's of violet and green making it a far better fit as a ghost-type Pokémon. The violet colors resemble many signature ghost-type Pokémon in the game like Haunter and the green also fits with energy often seen from ghosts like Alolan Marowak's ghost flames.

Lunala Appears More Terrifying As It Should

Lunala's shiny variant makes one of the strongest ghost-type Pokémon feel more obvious that it is influenced by bats. The red color fits the Pokémon well and was possibly chosen due to two different reasons.

The first reason is due to bats association with blood and the second, which could be a mix of both reasons is to represent the blood moon. If this is the case it fits perfectly for Lunala and this helps make it one of the best ghost-type shinies in the game series.

Dhelmise Makes Small But Great Changes

Dhelmise has always been one of the more underrated Pokémon in the game. Its design is largely inspired by the wheel and an anchor of a ghost ship with moss drooping off of it making it a perfect fit as a ghost-type and grass-type Pokémon (though water instead of grass might have made even more sense).

Its shiny variant changes subtle details of the wheel, but the most obvious change is the moss connecting the wheel and the anchor into the color red instead of green. This makes the Pokémon feel a bit more menacing than before and overall better as a ghost-type.

Aegislash Becomes Perfect

Aegislash is no doubt one of the best and coolest designed steel-type Pokémon in the game, so the bar was raised high for the shiny variation. Thankfully, the entire line of Aegislash possesses an epic color scheme for its shiny variant that many fans absolutely love.

Rather than basic colors one might see on a sword and shield, Aegislash mixes it up a bit by giving the Pokémon primarily red, black, and gold coloring. Pokémon took one of their most unique Pokémon from X and Y and was able to give an overall better look.

Alolan Marowak Somehow Gets Even Cooler

The original Marowak already had a pretty cool design, but Pokémon Sun and Moon were able to take this Pokémon and give it an amazing alternate regional form with Alolan Marowak. As if this wasn't enough, this fire-wielding Pokémon received an even better look for its shiny variant.

While the flames on its bones, unfortunately, don't change, the black part of the Pokémon changes to blue with its belly changing black. This Pokémon's initial Alolan design already fit it perfectly as a ghost/fire-type, but the shiny variant made it even more fitting.

Mega Sableye Dazzles

Sableye is no doubt one of the most underrated ghost-type Pokémon. Its normal shiny variant already had a pretty cool design, but there's something about the mega evolution that's just better. The change to having green diamond eyes rather than yellow ones just fit the Pokémon better.

And while this color scheme makes the Pokémon seem less of a ghost-type Pokémon, it is beautiful and successfully contrasts heavily with the original version. Many Pokémon's shiny variants often possess subtle changes from their original counterpart, but it's the most radical changes like Sableye that are the best.

Mega Gengar Becomes The Perfect Ghost-Type Pokémon

Many fans have often complained that Gengar has a boring shiny form with there hardly being any difference between it and the original. This is true, but thankfully they listened and gave Gengar's Mega Evolution an incredible shiny variant that changes the Pokémon white.

This new color not only makes the Pokémon look far more epic than ever before, but it also fits in line perfectly with how a ghost-type Pokémon should look, not only because it makes it one of the scariest ghost-type Pokémon, but also with how ghosts are commonly depicted as white figures.

Hisuian Zoroark Is Zoroark's Best Look Yet

Design-wise alone, Zoroark has to be the most impressive Pokémon to ever exist in the franchise. In Black and White, Zoroark had one of the coolest and unique designs Pokémon fans had ever seen.

Somehow, they were able to make this Pokémon even better in Legends: Arceus with one of the best Hisuian Pokémon forms, and yet, they didn't stop there as they made Zoroark's shiny variant even better and more fitting to being a ghost-type Pokémon by changing its red coloring to violet with its white. If any fan is wondering what shiny Pokémon they should be hunting for in Legends: Arceus, it's this one.

Giratina And Its Origin Forme Contrast Perfectly With Its Original

It's a debate whether Giratina's normal form is better or its Origin Forme, though fans tend to lean toward the latter. Giratina no doubt has one of the best designs out of any box art Pokémon and while it's a separate matter whether its shiny variant is better, it certainly has an amazing shiny.

The coloring is almost entirely different with the only consistent color remaining being black. The swapping of gold for silver and red for cyan blue were perfect decisions on the designer's part that helped make this the best ghost-type shiny Pokémon of all time.
