The Pokémon franchise is no stranger to the stars and cosmos, having lore for plenty of creatures that originate from space and some sort of material or object within it. From Jirachi to Cosmog and the Ultra Beasts to even Clefairy, these extraterrestrial Pokémon are just the beginning of how the series has always played with the idea of what's beyond.

With each generation of Pokémon introducing species new ones for players to catch, there are obvious preferences for each trainer, and some bond with certain zodiac signs better than others.

Aries (March 21 - April 19): Ceruledge

As both a leader and adventurous, the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, takes charge when they need to, and are willing to do so in any situation. Ceruledge and its alternate Pokémon Scarlet form, Armarouge, both represent warriors that lead the way alongside their trainers.

Ceruledge is a Pokémon Violet exclusive, though both Ceruledge and Armarouge have incredibly powerful and versatile movesets that make them fit just about any team with hopes of becoming the next Pokémon champion, perfectly fitting the vibe and nature of an Aries.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Kingambit

Those born under the second sign of Taurus have tendency to be dedicated with an immense amount of focus that keeps them consistently reliable. Kingambit, the third new form of Pawniard and evolution of Bisharp, represents this more than arguably any other Pokémon.

With inspiration from chess as pawn, bishop, and king, it's clear that Kingambit is a fierce leader and warrior part of an evolutionary line of Steel/Dark-type Pokémon that refuse to back down. Trainers with Kingambit on their team can expect high resilience to the foes they're against, backing up a Taurus's dedication and reliability.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Palafin (Hero Form)

Smart, energetic, and strong, Geminis are the third zodiac sign that also feel the need to protect. This perfectly encapsulates Palafin (Hero Form) after it uses its ability Zero-to-Hero to become what is essentially a Pokémon superhero and one of the strongest Generation IX Pokémon.

Though it’s a pure Water-type, Palafin (Hero Form) has a varied enough moveset that makes it capable of taking on most challenges like a superhero would. Even in its Pokédex entry in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Palafin is even described as transforming and powering itself up to aid those in danger.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Meowscarada

As the fourth zodiac sign, Cancers are known for being equal parts emotional and compassionate, sprinkled with protectiveness that keeps them loving and determined. As a Gen IX starter Pokémon, Sprigatito eventually turns into Meowscarada as long as trainers keep them throughout their adventure until level 36. This sign of loyalty and love to Meowscarada is reciprocated just like it is for Cancers.

Meowscarada also comes from a lineage of cats, and cats also have a tendency to be territorial and protective. This fits Meowscarada's demeanor as trainers go on their adventure throughout Paldea, and though cats can be seen as overly determined and serious, they're just as loving and caring, much like Meowscarada and Cancers.

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Iron Valiant

Confident, loyal, fiercely protective and ambitious, Leos are one of the most passionate and combative zodiac signs. As a Pokémon from the future built of steel, Iron Valiant is the definitive poster child of what represents the Leo sign.

Iron Valiant is one of the many unique futuristic Pokémon trainers will find down in Area Zero during the end-game and post-game scenarios. Despite its initial Fairy/Psychic roots from Gallade and Gardevoir, the combination of the two creates a fierce Fairy/Fighting hybrid that is as vicious and protective as it is loyal and resilient. Iron Valiant is perfect for any trainer's team, lifting the spirits of others within the party much like a Leo does.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Chien-Pao

Sophisticated, logical, practical, and systematic, Virgos have always represented proper structure and hope. As a member of the Treasures of Ruin, Chien-Pao comes from an ancient line and society of Pokémon that at one point was alongside the ancient king of Paldea.

Being part of a legacy where kingdoms and politics ruled and were defined, Chien-Pao is the walking definition of what it means to be structured, respectful, and devoted. These qualities are in line with all that makes Virgos a popular and reliable zodiac, with Chien-Pao being no different.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Bellibolt

Libras have always been one of the most down-to-earth and friendliest zodiac signs, having huge traits in being social and selfless. Since its reveal in a promotional video with its gym leader and trainer, Iono, Bellibolt has been and still is one of the most fun and friendly new Pokémon to appear in Generation IX.

Bellibolt has an innate ability to entertain and make those around it feel comfortable and cozy, and this is also a big trait seen in the Libra zodiac sign. With its outgoing nature and easy-to-approach demeanor, Bellibolt is a fun and perfect representation of the Libra sign.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Cetitan

Brave, loyal, and fearless, Scorpios take charge and are willing to put themselves in front of whatever lies ahead. Cetitan is a beast of a Pokémon that comes from the very different Cetoddle, whose nature is much more playful and relaxed. Cetitan has the power and defense to handle just about anything thrown at it, being a shield much like Scorpios are.

Though Cetoddle is seen rolling around as one of the goofiest new Pokémon in the Paldea region, Cetitan is sheer growth in every sense of the word. It has an aura that is as powerful as it is resolute, and Cetitan can always be relied on for battles where uncertainty is high, adding comfort through its bravery.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): Espathra

The Sagittarius sign is typically known for its honesty and intelligence. With Espathra being a new Psychic-type within the Paldea region, its intellect through its movesets and ability to easily evade others keeps it among the most clever and versatile new Pokémon of Generation IX, on par with the Sagittarius sign.

Espathra uses a variety of moves that can reveal, breakdown, and anticipate the opponent. It's intelligence and cunning makes Espathra a fantastic Pokémon to have in a trainer's party especially for double battles to serve as a way to gather information on the opponent while inflicting status effects.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Baxcalibur

Strong and disciplined, the Capricorn sign is all about hard work with a full heart. Baxcalibur is a monstrous Pokémon that has its Dragon and Ice typing really come front and center, showing off all its capable of much like a regular Capricorn would.

Baxcalibur is easily one of the strongest new Pokémon of Generation IX, and it has an unrelenting focus that keeps it ahead of the game more often than not. These traits match up with a Capricorn almost perfectly, as Baxcalibur is one of the most reliable and versatile Pokémon in series' history.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Tinkaton

The Aquarius zodiac sign is typically known for being clever and creative yet rebellious. The creative and rebellious nature of the Aquarius sign aligns with perfection to what Tinkaton stands for, being one of the surprise hits of Generation IX and arguably one of the most overpowered Pokémon in Paldea.

Tinkaton likes to create mischief and mayhem according to its Pokédex bio, and this is further seen with a miraculous moveset that can obliterate an opponent in seconds. Trainers bringing Tinkaton along on their journey will also notice that Tinkaton is flexible with its moveset, bringing in that signature Capricorn cleverness and creativity.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20): Arboliva

There's a certain finesse that the Pisces sign has, and Arboliva envelopes this proudly through its traits, movesets, and more. With a description in its Pokédex entry labeling Arboliva as compassionate, the empathetic traits of the Pisces sign go hand-in-hand with what Arboliva stands for.

Arboliva comes from the humble beginnings of Smoliv, and as it grows it can provide care through a multitude of healing moves and properties that allow it to be a nurturing type of Pokémon and one of the best Grass-types. Given that the Pisces sign is also sensitive, it lends itself well to Arboliva's altruism, sincerity, and hospitality.
