With Pokémon Scarlet and Violet having been out for just over a week, many players will have beaten the game and be wondering what steps to take next. With any Pokémon game, there are Easter eggs to explore, hidden rewards to collect, and end-game changes to find.

The new, open-world formatting can be difficult, especially for those used to the more linear-styled Pokémon games. Rather than scrambling around and getting overwhelmed, exploring Paldea's massive map space, look no further for those extra little details.

Generation One Sprites

A simple Easter egg and a friendly nod to those players who've been faithful to the Pokémon franchise for decades, Paldea's Psychic-type gym has a number of mosaics lining its floors and walls that resemble classic Pokémon sprites.

These sprites will be very familiar and offer some generous nostalgia to players who have run through Red and Blue and may recall a time when Pokémon didn't have such a colorful world to offer. Most players will pass through this area, but stopping to focus on them for a moment before tackling the gym battle might offer some appreciation for how far game graphics have come!

Galarian Meowth

Getting a Pokémon as a reward makes any task worth its effort, and Galarian Meowth, in particular, is a fun one to collect. Fortunately for those feeling tired after the long journey of gym battles, raid bosses, and Team Star bosses, this capture won't require any walking.

One of Scarlet and Violet's interesting new features is the ability to take courses in the school. Often times completing a number of courses will offer a reward, as well as respect from one's peers. The player must complete all the language classes and pass their finals. Mr. Salvatore will then give out the Meowth.

School Library And History Classes

For many Pokémon players, Scarlet and Violet won't be their first rodeo, and the game designers know this. Throughout the school, players may notice there are multiple references to other recent Pokémon games, specifically Sword and Shield and Legends: Arceus.

The bookshelves contain information regarding events that occur in Sword and Shield, displaying that the game takes place earlier in the timeline. Also, one of the history courses gives a nod to Professor Laventon from Legends: Arceus, also displaying an image of the early Pokéballs from the game. These were some of the best easter eggs Redditors noticed in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Special Rotom Phone Cases

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, players were offered an in-game reward for having Let's Go, Eevee and Pikachu as save files on their Switch devices. Now, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have four games of backlog to offer rewards for. Though this time, the rewards are cosmetic rather than Pokémon.

The new Rotom phones are used for GPS as well as other features on top of just being a cellphone, and phone cases can be bought in the game. Owners of previous Switch Pokémon games will be able to pick up four special options in the central plaza of Mesagoza from an inconspicuous woman wearing sunglasses.

10 Sights Of Paldea

The map of Paldea is huge, and the new fast travel feature is a major convenience for those who haven't yet unlocked flying. Pokéstops are a common way to unlock fast travel points. But there are other options to get around the areas of the map that don't have them.

To unlock these fast travel points and do some fun sightseeing along the way, players can visit the 10 Sights of Paldea. These are meant to resemble the "Seven Natural Wonders of the World" but in Pokémon form. It would be hard to play through without stumbling on at least one or seeing an NPC mention them. The Paldea region has many powerful Pokémon, and they don't scale to the player's level, so beware entering high leveled zones.

Paradox Pokémon

For Pokémon collectors, the new Paradox Pokémon, which have been ranked based on their stats and designs, are an essential stop after beating Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. During the game's run time, Area Zero will have normal Pokémon available, so many players may forget to return here after the credits roll.

Area Zero is home to some of the most powerful and exciting designs in the entire game. The Paradox Pokémon are versions of recognizable classics such as Donphan, Tyranitar, and Salamence. This will be the first stop for many fans after completing the game.

Shiny Charm

Players who earned this achievement in Sword and Shield may have had an inkling of its return, but for first-time fulfillers of the Pokédex, going to collect the Shiny Charm is a good fact to know! This item will allow for an increased chance of discovering a shiny Pokémon, but can only be earned by completing the Dex of 400 Pokémon.

Collecting Shiny Pokémon is a huge area of end-game content for many players, so the use of this device to save time is essential. For those who hadn't been collecting their Pokédex milestone rewards throughout the game, there may be a surprise of backlog treats as well. Shinies are the hardest Pokémon to catch in the game, so this is a must-have.

The Ace Tournament

For the expert trainers out there who finish Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and want more NPCs to trash, or for players who want challenges to test new teams against, The Ace Tournament offers a reliable and repeatable source of content, allowing the player to face off against familiar NPCs from throughout the game (including the Champion!).

After completing the game and watching the credits roll, players will be tasked with re-challenging every gym leader. Completing this will unlock the Ace Tournament. The rewards aren't stellar, aside from a one-time cosmetic item, but the challenge can be fun for battle lovers. This storyline begins by entering Clavell's office after beating the game.

Legendary Treasure Hunt

One necessary step for collectors is to make sure to catch all the game's legendary Pokémon. Aside from the game's cover legendaries, there are also four more available to catch following a treasure hunt. There are 32 colored stakes around the map, with eight corresponding to each legendary.

After collecting all eight of one color, the player can then go battle the legendary. These four Pokémon are inspired by Chinese mythology and all have interesting and unique designs. Luckily for players who often fumble the catches the first time around, all legendaries will respawn, including the cover legendaries, which can even be caught twice.
