November 2022 was been an amazing month for video games with titles such as God of War Ragnarök, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, and Sonic Frontiers. This burst of outstanding new titles was a great way to wrap up the year with plenty of choices to purchase a game for the holidays.

November has always been a great month for gaming, just like it was in 2011 when The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim debuted. A sensation fantasy RPG open-world game that made video games fall in love with fantasy all over again. The game continues to be highly praised, but sometimes when replaying, things weren't as great as players first remembered.

Houses Are Not Nearly As Fun The Second Time

One thing many players enjoyed even before the Hearthstone DLC was buying houses and decorating as they went along.

This took a lot of work, but in a replay, this can feel overly tedious because the player already put so much hard work into their first home. The same can be said about the houses they can make with the Hearthstone DLC which requires even more time. It's extremely tedious and almost doesn't seem worth the effort anymore.

Playing As A Vampire Sucks

Many players found the initial curse of being a vampire terrible until the Dawnguard DLC came around, giving those who had continued to be a vampire or wanted to be one a purpose. However, even with the Dawnguard DLC and how much fun it was, sometimes it's just plain terrible to play as a vampire.

There are too many weaknesses in the sunlight and running around with the stamina gauge bar not recharging is so frustrating. Not to mention how players that love Dawnbreaker, one of the best video game swords, will even damage themselves when they use its automatic light explosion.

Level Grinding Is Tedious

Every Skyrim player has spent hours sitting at the forge crafting iron daggers over and over again, working to get their Smithing level up alongside their overall level. In general, it can just feel tedious to have to grind to a certain level again and not just do whatever the player wants in the game.

Lowering the difficulty does help with this issue again, but players are limited to what they can do with weapons, spells, and armor depending on their level. Even the items in dungeons are much more boring at a lower level.

It's Not Worth Completing The Thieves Guild Questline

It's a sad reality to realize that the Thieves Guild questline isn't even worth finishing. This is one of the best questlines in the game, however, players hated that they had to give up the Skeleton Key at the end of it.

While they are granted some nice perks, it seems more beneficial to simply keep the Skeleton Key so that they can pick any lock that they come across. This is especially helpful on a new game that players will likely never invest as much time into as their first.

Mods Get Boring Quickly

Many fans were excited when mods became available on the console versions of Skyrim and were the sole reason many players bought the game again. However, mods didn't end up being as fun as playing the game for the first time and made many players get bored with Skyrim even quicker than usual.

At first, they seem like a great addition, and Skyrim can have even the funniest mods. However, players simply overload too many of them which ends up making the game lose its flavor, and then they drop interest completely.

Not Going To The Greybeards Is A Good Option

While it is vital to learn Dragon Shouts by going to the Greybeards never going isn't actually a terrible option. Many players grew tired of dragons constantly flying down and attacking them when they least desired the fight.

However, if players don't progress a certain way through the main questline then they aren't going to see dragons. This is a pretty nice benefit that allows players to casually stroll Skyrim more easily.

The Dark Brotherhood

Killing the Dark Brotherhood is something players don't usually do in their first playthrough and some might not mind actually going and taking them out considering most of them die anyway. This can still be a hard quest to complete as these were all characters the player was used to being comrades with.

However, players can obtain mostly everything they did normally in the Dark Brotherhood questline minus the gold. Another harsh reality is players probably won't ever complete the Dark Brotherhood questline again because they'll keep the money Nazir gives them and not spend it on the new sanctuary.

Replaying The Same Questline Gets Stale

While playing many questlines for the first time was a blast for many fans, sometimes going back on a replay and playing the ones you've already completed in the past isn't quite the same. It is nice that some questlines in Skyrim offer important choices to make, however, even some of those questlines feel a bit repetitive like the civil war.

To avoid getting burnt out faster, players should try to focus on quests they've never done before rather than just replaying their favorites which could quickly become their least favorites by overplaying them.

The New Versions Of The Game Aren't Worth It

It's become a meme in the gaming community that the only thing Bethesda can release pertaining to the Elder Scrolls is just more versions of Skyrim. Sure enough, even in 2021, a new version of Skyrim was released for next-gen consoles.

There are now 4-5 different versions of Skyrim with the RPG even having a VR game. Despite there being so many versions there isn't really a point to buy most of them. Every time players take a long break from Skyrim and wish to dive back in they try purchasing one of the newer versions thinking it'll be different when it's just the same game with slightly improved graphics.

The Game Feels Too Small

The biggest issue with replaying Skyrim, especially for players that have already done everything in the game once is that the world suddenly feels very small. They want to reinitiate the experience they first had with Skyrim and the many hours they put into the world, however, they can't.

The game has already been explored, and it'll never be the same as when they first entered the land. Skyrim has a high replayability rate for many fans, but it's possible to play it too much.
