9 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

The Wind Waker has long since been one of the most beloved video games due to its artistic beauty, incredible sense of adventure with its wide enchanting ocean, and incredible action. Wind Waker is one of the best Legend of Zelda games and many fans have been deeply desiring a Nintendo Switch port of the HD remaster.

Given that the HD remaster was added ten years ago to the Wii U, in honor of the game's 10th anniversary, it isn't too farfetched to wonder if the game will receive a port to the Nintendo Switch for its 20th anniversary.

8 Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most iconic video games in the franchise and currently has a remake in development. This game is more unique than most Star Wars games fans are familiar with due to its RPG style and turn-based combat.

The game's story is fantastic and the best video game Star Wars characters like Revan, Bastila Shan, and Darth Malak have become just as memorable and beloved as the main characters in the movie series. It's unknown when the Knights of the Old Republic remake will be released, but it will make quite a few changes like a new combat system.

7 Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

This game can switch between a couple of different ways to play. It can either be a first-person game or a third-person. Players can also either use blasters or lightsabers. While the player can usually choose how they want to play the game, wielding a lightsaber can only be done in third-person.

The game allows full customization of the player's character and the player goes through relatively simplistic missions that cover important planets in the Star Wars universe. The story is nothing complex, but the game is incredibly fun, and it feels as if the player is truly training to become a Jedi in this new order.

6 Call of Duty

Call of Duty has become perhaps the best-known first-person-shooter military game, and it all began twenty years ago in 2003 with this one. Many fans still claim this Call of Duty has the best campaign out of the Call of Duty games but has one of the weaker multiplayer modes.

This makes Call of Duty a bit of a rarity as most players nowadays skip the campaigns and only play multiplayer or zombie game modes. Call of Duty has a total of three campaigns taking place during World War II--American, British, and the Soviet Union.

5 The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is based on the film of the same name and is one of the best video games in the Middle-Earth franchise. The game is primarily a hack-and-slash and allows the player to play as most of the major characters featured in the films.

The game follows the storyline of the movie well with some added action scenes. However, because it is an adaptation of a single film, it does make the game incredibly short which is one of the few but big disappointments regarding the game.

4 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time came and went rather quickly but was a critically beloved game as one of the best time travel video games ever. The game has since been almost entirely forgotten until a recent announcement was made that the game would be receiving a remake initially slated for 2023.

Interestingly enough, this game is originally a reboot as well of a 1989 video game series of the same name. The Sands of Time itself possesses incredible gameplay and a great story. Those who haven't played the game but have seen the live-action film shouldn't be dissuaded to attempt the game as it's so much better than the film.

In many ways, the Mario Kart games that came after have surpassed Double Dash, however, Double Dash has a certain hold of nostalgia that will always have players coming back. A future remaster for the game is unlikely, however, it's possible that more iconic tracks from the game could end up in a future game.

This game was surprisingly adored by many fans and performed critically well. The conclusion of the game was also satisfying for fans who were still heartbroken over Final Fantasy X's ending. Square Enix is also planning to make a Final Fantasy X-3, however, it won't begin development until they're completely done with the Final Fantasy VIIremakes.

1 Sonic Heroes

Sonic Heroes is one of those 3D Sonic games that fans recall was much better than it actually was. Many Sonic games are in desperate need of a remaster or remake, and Sonic Heroes should be near the top of priority.
