God of War Ragnarök has been performing admirably as it sells more games than any other first-party game. It also is one of the nominees for Game of the Year, as well as the game with the most nominations out of all the categories.

God of War Ragnarök uses a motion capture that uses real actors for many of the cutscenes in the games. There are many notable actors and voice actors that appear in the games that players will likely have seen in previous movies, shows, or other video games. However, it can be difficult to place just who these actors are at first.

Sunny Suljic — The Killing Of The Sacred Deer

Sunny Suljic is of course best known for his role as Atreus in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök. He hasn't had many major roles in movies or television and for video games, he's stuck only to God of War projects.

However, many players may not have realized that he does play a role in a major film from 2017 called The Killing of the Sacred Deer. This is a well-received psychological horror film with many notable actors like Colin Farrell, Bary Keoghan, and Nicole Kidman. The story focuses on the Murphy family where Sunny plays Bog Murphy, one of the sons.

Erica Lindbeck — Your Lie In April

Erica Lindbeck is the actor who plays Hrist, who alongside Mist is one of the hardest bosses in GoW Ragnarök. It's easy to not recognize what else Erica is from given how few lines she has in GoW Ragnarök, however, she has a few notable voices throughout video games and anime.

Erica is well-known for major voice-acting roles like Celica, one of the two main protagonists from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. As well as what is likely her most notable role, Kaori from Your Lie in April, one of the saddest anime of all time. These are quite different roles from Hrist, but it shows Erica's range of voice-acting talents.

Janina Gavankar — Tales Of The Jedi

Janina Gavankar plays the minor role of Sinmara in God of War Ragnarök. Sinmara is the lover of Surtr and the giant who lives in Niflheim. If players travel to Niflheim during post-game, they can hear Sinmara wailing over Surtr's death.

Janina also appears in various movies and television shows with her voice acting work being her most noted. She voices Pav-ti in the recent Star Wars series, Tales of the Jedi, who is Ahsoka's mother that appears in the first episode. She will also be playing a major role in the upcoming motion capture game, Forspoken, a highly anticipated Square Enix game that will release in 2023 for the PlayStation 5.

Alastair Duncan — Shadow Of Mordor

Alastair Duncan played one of the best-portrayed gods in GoW Ragnarök, Mimir. Mimir is the god of wisdom and is one of the recurring companions of Kratos in the Norse era of the games.

Mimir has become one the most iconic and well-known characters from the God of War franchise and Alastair has actually voiced another character who's arguably even more iconic. That is, Celebrimbor from Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Shadow of War. These Middle-earth games have several amazing actors, but it's difficult to top the performance that Alastair gave with Celebrimbor.

Mina Sundwall — Lost In Space

Mina Sundwall plays Thrud from God of War Ragnarök, the daughter of Thor. She is not a character fans really expected to see in the game, but everyone instantly fell in love with her. This was Mina's first voice-acting role and prior to this, she has only appeared in various movies and television series.

Her best-known role is Penny Robinson, a character who appears in the Netflix sci-fi drama, Lost in Space. Penny is the mischievous child in the Robinson family and one of the youngest of the children.

Ryan Hurst — Bates Motel

Ryan Hurst is perhaps the most notable actor that appears in his voice acting debut, God of War Ragnarök, where he plays the lovable and complex Thor. Thor is one of the hardest gods that players fight in GoW Ragnarök and has a great dynamic with Kratos.

While he hasn't had any voice acting roles prior to Ragnarök, he does appear in various popular TV shows as major characters like Chick from Bates Motel, Beta from The Walking Dead, and Opie Winston from Sons of Anarchy. Ryan always gives his all to every role he performs which makes him a memorable and well-loved actor.

Usman Ally — A Series Of Unfortunate Events

Usman Ally plays one of the major Dwarves that players meet in GoW Ragnarök, Durlin. Usman has appeared in movies, television series, and video game roles. Generally, he plays minor roles like Asav in the Uncharted games.

However, he does have a more notable appearance in Netflix's adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. In this series, he plays Fernald, the Hook-Handed Man who of course has only hooks for hands.

Scott Porter — Batman: Arkham Knight

Scott Porter plays the not-so-lovable Heimdall, one of the hardest boss fights in GoW Ragnarök. In addition to his role in GoW Ragnarök, he has starred in several other video games as notable characters. In Batman: Arkham Knight he plays Nightwing, Dick Grayson the former Robin.

He also plays Harry Osborn in PlayStation 4's Spider-Man and may appear in Spider-Man 2. While Harry is out of commission in the game, resting in a large healing tank, he has dozens of recordings around New York City that Peter can listen to for Harry's side mission.

Deborah Ann Woll — Daredevil

Deborah Ann Woll is one of the most well-known actors in God of War Ragnarök, and she plays Faye, the wife of Kratos and the mother of Atreus. This is interestingly enough her only video game role, and she is more known for appearing in television series and films.

She is best known for her portrayal of Karen Page in Netflix's Daredevil, one of the main protagonists of the fan-favorite series and one of the best characters in the show. Much like Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) she will be making a return as Karen Page soon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Milana Vayntrub — AT&T Commercials

Milana Vayntrub is the most surprising addition to God of War Ragnarök's cast. She plays the dwarf Lúnda, and she doesn't sound or look anything like Milana.

Milana Vayntrub is best known for her appearance in AT&T commercials as Lily Adams, though most people usually refer to her as "the AT&T Girl." This is a fun addition to the cast and the first video game role she has taken.
